12 Month Fixed Term Contract
This is a chance for a mechanically biased buyer to join a growing engineering company. We are looking for a seasoned purchasing professional that can take the lead in a small purchasing department.
Technically, you’ve probably been working with a variety of mechanical components and systems. You should be familiar with tooling processes, machining principles, high tolerance considerations, castings and mechanical engineering and manufacturing in general.
This could suit a time served apprentice who has experience in both manufacturing and purchasing.
Whilst CIPS is always of interest, industry experience is preferred in this instance. Experience of leading, managing sub contract manufacturing suppliers is of interest, as is the ability to travel and work with the supply chain. We are looking for someone who has the character and personality to be able to deputise for the Purchasing Manager.
This position would suit a confident, engaging and assertive personality who is an effective communicator, a good listener with the ability to influence - you will definitely have a good command of written English.
Technically, you’ll need a working knowledge and demonstratable understanding of complex mechanical components, machining, grinding and metal casting processes required. Additional secondary experience in Electronics/ PCBA / Components is preferred.
Negotiation and Contract drafting experience is essential along with a track record of working with ERP and planning systems.
