Materials Specialist - Metallurgy

A great opportunity for an Automotive Metallurgy specialist to work on light weighting a brand new range of vehicles. It's anticipated you will have been through several automotive vehicle development and be able to offer expert advice within the team. 

Duties /Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role):
- To provide metallic materials technology support at all stages of vehicle development (including concept, design, engineering and production)
- To assess metallic material vehicle applications for production feasibility
- To provide detail reports and/or presentations to project teams at the required milestones
- To support sales activities with expert knowledge and/or presentation content as required
- Engineering drawing sign off responsibility for metallic component feasibility and material selection
- o provide joining technology support (including welding, adhesives and cold joining techniques)
- To support sourcing decisions for metallic material vehicle applications in terms of BOM, investment, weight and environmental impact
- To be the technical expert within the businesses for metallic materials
Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria):
- Materials related degree
- Materials Engineering and application knowledge
- Ability to promote innovation and technical competence
- Good PC skills, MS Office and MS Project
- Ability to liaise across business to secure resources and influence research projects
- Contribute to ongoing development of company processes
