Our client in Fareham is seeking a new Manufacturing Manager to plan, coordinate and control the core manufacturing process in line with the needs of the business.
They need someone with experience across supply chain, operations and manufacturing. This is a strategic senior management role. It has 3 supervisors and a manager reporting into them who cover the day to day of production and materials. Overall responsible for 80-100 people.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
? Responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing process including Assembly, Materials and Production Control.
? Work on the continuous improvement of the production and manufacturing processes to improve quality and efficiency, exceeding the requirement of ISO9001.
? Develop master schedules and production planning systems in line with the MRP system.
? Control the manufacture of equipment and sub-assemblies from order intake through to project handover.
? Provide equipment delivery planning information to sales department as required.
? Manage department managers and supervisors within Manufacturing.
? Maintain optimum resource levels within manufacturing.
? Oversee Materials Management ensuring all materials are procured and delivered as and when required in line with the needs of the business.
? Oversee Production Control management ensuring planning, coordination, control, prioritisation and completion of production work orders are managed in line with MRP schedules and delivery deadlines.
? Work with the QHSE Manager to ensure product quality and reliability defects are identified and reduced in line with agreed targets.
? Liaise with Sales department on future requirements and stock build planning.
? Manage WIP and take responsibility for full WIP stock take at year-end audit.
? Improve stock holdings using historical data and sales forecasting in order to achieve a 2 day turnaround for aftersales deliveries.
? Report on CAPEX requirements and budgeting for production improvements.
