Our client is seeking a Shipping Co-ordinator with manufacturing export required experience. Someone with experience of taking control of the finished goods (in this case lasers) from production to getting them out of the door. Liaising with customers and internally to ensure on time delivery. Having manufacturing shipping experience, good communication skills and ERP systems experience. The role is 70% shipping / export with some other inbound logistics duties.


Company Background:
Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of fibre lasers for use in cutting, welding, and marking applications in a wide range of industries. 

Job Purpose:
To administer the day to day inbound and outbound logistics, facilitating import and export requirements ensuring all relevant documentation is compliant and deliver excellent service levels to guarantee on time delivery (OTD) to customers.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
Inbound:
•Oversee the goods receiving process, ensuring all deliveries including components, consumables and return products (RMA’s) are booked in accurately within ERP and put away in a timely manner.
•Communicate and assist cross- functionally, with any purchasing or invoice queries investigating any discrepancies as priority.
•Support, when required, the validation, and coding of all of the companies/supplier inbound and outbound freight, duty and VAT invoices.
Outbound:
•Work closely with manager and order management to understand and prioritise urgent shipments. 
•Communicate cross-functionally, with quality and production leads to ensure finished goods are available for packing.
•Control and lead the packing process ensuring all finished goods are packed correctly and available for collection.
•Create and/or review shipping documentation in support of controlled shipments and process items through ERP system. 
•Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers (internal and external) and the sales teams to assist in the provision of excellent customer service by daily problem solving.
•Liaise with freight forwarders and couriers to ensure transport is booked for collections for OTD.

•Ensure that appropriate documents for all global transactions are raised in accordance with the company’s terms and conditions, HMRC legislation and taking into account international Customs/customer specific requirements. To include, but not limited to, Letters of Credit, Certificates of Origin and export control requirements.
•Processing of all Import and export (C88) documents, including the validating of information and the monitoring of amendments via the appropriate service providers where necessary and liaising with the Compliance team when these issues impact on project matters.

Reporting:
•Monitor logistic KPIs to measure performance and ensure high standards are maintained.

General:
•Deliver continuous improvement to enhance performance, quality, efficiency, and cost
•Assist Customers internally and externally with shipping needs and daily problem solving proactively communicating and delays and potential solutions. 
•Assist as necessary in product compliance activities such as packing and labelling.
•Support a proactive safety environment, with emphasis on good housekeeping techniques. 

Required Experience:
Essential:
•Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a shipping/export environment within a manufacturing organisation
•Good understanding of end to end supply chain activities.
•Experience in producing EU/International export documentation and shipments requiring export licenses
•Experience in ERP systems, preferably SAP as well as strong IT literature.
•Experience working with third party logistic providers. 
•Ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel with strong prioritisation skills.
•Strong communication skills at all levels. 
Preferable:
•Ideally trained and qualified as a forklift truck driver.

Qualifications:
•A ‘level or good GCSE standard as a minimum.
