The person:
In order to succeed you will need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills as the ability to build effective working relationships across multiple disciples is paramount.  Attitude is everything, we are always pushing boundaries and to achieve the unimaginable you must have a can-do approach and an open mind to endless possibilities.  

•Proven track record of delivery within an established OEM or Tier 1 for either research projects or production programmes
•You will have 8 or more years seating experience and be considered an expert in your field
•A good understanding of how to take research or innovation projects from conception through to implementation readiness or production
•You have a good view of the state of the art in your field and able to research and gain insights into new technological advancements through your network and knowledge of existing suppliers
•You have a passion to do things better than before and do not only look to the past for what is possible
•You can challenge yourself and those around you and inspire people to go one step further in this project
•You have been a leader but have a passion for doing, and want an opportunity to lead a new project whilst getting stuck into the detail yourself
•You have worked on new patents and understand the value in innovation and IP creation
•Excellent communicator and negotiator
•Ability to work proactively with minimal support using a logical approach in an environment with minimal documented processes
•Flexible to support other team members in multiple programs as required
•Ability to manage different stakeholders with good interpersonal and communication skills
•The ability to think creatively to solve feasibility issues
•Proven ability to work to deadlines and prioritise your own workload

The Role:
•Support the Interiors R&D team by creating a concept for the next generation of seats
•Work collaboratively across multiple areas of the business to work out what the best solution for the seats will be based on the criteria set
•Deliver a technical solution for the seat that meets all attributes with an appropriate research plan for new technologies and materials
•Create and run your own concept program including identifying a timeline, milestones and deliverables and demonstrate how this can support the business needs
•Manage your workload and identify support needed from other functions, making the right decision on delegating, and doing throughout
•Manage the program budget and report out to management on a regular basis
•Work closely with the studio to ensure the design aspirations align with the technical solution

Minimum Required Skills & Experience: 
•8+ years working in Automotive (or similar) seating (OEM and/or Tier 1)
•Innovation or R&D experience
•Experience with Microsoft Office applications
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Excellent interpersonal & organisational skills, with good attention to detail
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Able to work in start-up environment
•A Design or Engineering Degree (Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered). 

Desirable Experience:
•CATIA V5 proficient
