Lead Engineer - Virtual Vehicle Dynamics
Norfolk (Relocation Support Available) or Midlands based
This is an exciting opportunity to join the an Automotive OEM working in the vehicle dynamics group on a diverse range of vehicle projects, You will take responsibility for data management, project delivery and management of a small team's day to day delivery tasks in virtual vehicle engineering and sign off.
Lead level role suiting someone who can be technically hands on (expert) but, also be able to lead projects (and teams) in the future.
Day-to-day responsibilities in this role will include;
Lead a team to deliver for internal and external projects:
Virtual Validation and sign-off
Plan virtual engineering activities and assessments within dynamics functions and also engage with other functional and attribute areas as required.
Technical delivery of projects to achieve targets of performance, cost, quality and time.
Generation of formal reports to engineering requirements
Development of test procedures, processes and supporting systems
Integrating within vehicle dynamics teams during tuning and development phases to deliver guidance from Virtual analysis.
The main focus of this role is to deliver system and component targets on the companies projects to achieve vehicles worthy of the leading our reputation in vehicle dynamics. You will enhance this reputation by providing experience of simulation and virtual analysis of all passive and active systems on the companies and customer vehicles and mentor the junior members of the team to advance their capabilities.
There will also be a requirement to build upon the current companies simulation techniques, data management and engineering processes.
Skills/ Experience we're looking for:
Very strong virtual vehicle dynamics knowledge, with a strong background in CAE/Simulation.
In depth knowledge of vehicle dynamics development supported by a thorough theoretical understanding of vehicle dynamics
Practical experience of virtual vehicle dynamics development.
Strong understanding of whole vehicle attributes for a wide range of diverse vehicle types
Knowledge of physical vehicle tuning techniques and experience working directly with vehicle tuners
DIL Simulator experience
Experience in sports car technical requirements and system targets.
Strong knowledge of process development and robust engineering.
Experience of objective testing and data analysis.
Very high level of simulation ability and understanding of physical principles.
A methodical and scientific approach to problem solving and strong data analysis skills.
Good planning and Management skills
Experienced user of ADAMS, VI-Grade or SHARK/RAVEN software.
Experience in development of MBS techniques and supporting systems.
