Lead CAE Engineer - Crashworthiness / NVH

Accountabilities
Manage the creation of CAE models from concept to detail stage
Lead and mentor junior and senior CAE engineers to deliver engineering solutions and gateway status reports
Ensure consistent use of state of the art methods across the team and lead the development of advanced practices
Support the definition and monitoring of component, system and vehicle level testing
Help develop body and vehicle engineering standards
Collaborate closely with the Safety team to develop integrated structure/restraints solutions
Integrate performance across all major attributes : NVH, crash worthiness, pedestrian protection and durability, within CAE, Body Engineering and Vehicle Engineering groups


Skills
What You Will Need:

Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (other relevant engineering disciplines will be considered)
CAE simulation experience (job-dependant)
Experience leading a team
In depth knowledge in the fields of either NVH or Crashworthiness
Experience with crashworthiness software or experience with structural dynamic analysis software
Very good working knowledge of first engineering principles and fundamentals of body engineering
Ability to approach any complex issue using simple approach (hand calculations, excel) and break them down into individual activities, progressively increasing the level of detail.
Sound knowledge of materials and manufacturig requirements, mechanical properties and failure mechanism
Ability to communicate complex technical issues in an appropriate, concise and accurate fashion, both in writing and verbally
Ability to multi-task and plan effectively when working with a variety of project teams in an often high-pressure, competitive environment

Self-starter - ability to work independently and take initiative, solve problems and contribute above and beyond scope of role to support overall project success when required
Excellent team-working skills

Desirable

Experience in Electric Vehicle Body Structures development
Experience of developing new vehicle platform
Experience with optimisation methods and tools across physical domains
