I am seeking a Key Account /Project Manager to work for a multinational company that produces Low volume high Complex products
They are seeking someone that has a career path within the industrial manufacturing or engineering services sectors. With a mix of project and commercial management experiences, including lead/lone roles with ownership of outcome in an industrial environment.
•Own and manage all aspects of the commercial relationship (time, money and scope periphery) between Company and specified customers.
•Define and deliver the financial numbers (turnover, CM2, etc.) for assigned projects.
•Operationally monitor/report (but not be responsible for) the physical contract performance (supply, build, compliance, quality, logistics, field service, etc.).
•Ensure transparency of customer relationship and project performance.
•Develop and maintain the customer relationship to ensure sustainability.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
•Ongoing understanding of the customer organisational structure (immediately relevant, wider) and drivers (to the extent they affect the project commercial delivery and relationship).
•Ongoing understanding the relevant market (structure, drivers, legal, compliance, direction of travel, etc.) to be aware of consequences on the customer commercial relationship/contract scope. Inform and work with the SEA order winning team to develop the commercial relationship.
•Understand current business flow and contract history (how we got to where we are). In particular historic and current performance (financials, delivery, quality, etc.), development of and current contract status (as signed, variations, amendments, key communications, etc.), financial progression (budgets, expectations, risks, warranties, etc.).
•Ensure relevant tools are in place to manage contracts and relationships, in particular to ensure visibility of historical performance and realistic forecasts for time and cost. Run simple risk registers, open point lists, daily log and document files.
•Directly manage against the contract requirements. Manage, coordinate, communicate and facilitate between business functions to ensure the physical delivery of the contract performance (in particular supporting build and field service). This includes resolving critical path issues inside and outside of SEA working with others to mitigate risks, etc.).
•Communicate with the customer on an agreed basis and format, communication to be accurate against the known facts and within context (ie against contractual obligations) and including foreseeable consequences. Be the customer’s voice within the company.
•Directly undertake and manage the commercial relationship for variation, additional work and amendment. With the order winning team tender and negotiate for further work packages with the customer.
•Report and communicate progress (actual against plan/budget) on both a periodic and adhoc basis. Escalate emerging issues both within the contract and into the management organisation.

•Must have a mix of project and commercial management experiences, including lead/lone roles with ownership of outcome in an industrial environment (as opposed to large one off projects).
•Capital equipment commercial and operational experience particularly valued (for complexity and performance).
•Have worked in small and larger company environments.
•Been in roles requiring a mix of working with existing processes and introducing/managing new (simple) processes.
•Fact driven management style, able to recognise reality.
•Flexible domestic situation (able to travel in the UK and Europe).
•Defence and infrastructure contracting experience valued.
