Job Description

Motorsport & Automotive Consultancy is seeking a new Head of Programme Management located at their facility in Thetford, Norfolk.

Our client is a Global supplier of engineered Components, Systems and services to major Race Teams, OEMs and a growing number of niche vehicle manufacturers. Specialties include suspension systems, vehicle dynamics, carbon fibre structural components, mechanisms and mechatronics.

Must hold at least 10 years' Automotive whole vehicle programme management experience (low volume). 

You'll be responsible for the Project Management Office with the objective of ensuring all projects are delivered using a ‘best-practice’ project delivery approach and are delivered within the agreed scope, time, cost and quality.

This role will be three fold, firstly overseeing the portfolio of engineering projects, providing expert knowledge and support and monitoring progress and reporting on the portfolio status. Secondly, managing projects/programmes directly. Finally, the development, introduction and on-going iteration of the organisation’s project delivery Approach.

The role is expected to provide strong leadership in a matrix environment to promote best practices in managing interrelated projects and programmes to ensure successful delivery. This role will also ensure project resources have the correct toolsets and processes in place and that all relevant staff are trained and equipped to deliver successfully.

Direct line departmental supervisory responsibility for the PMO carrying appropriate leadership/management of Program Managers, Production Engineers and Project Buyers. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and reviewing work amongst the program team.

You'll hold good communication and professional presentation skills for customer and supplier interfacing, along with Leadership, man management and conflict resolution skills.
