Our automotive consultancy client based in Coventry is seeking a Hardware Electronics Engineer. This role would suit a graduate with some experience. Perhaps 1 or 2 years, they are flexible. You will be working on predominantley aerospace and automotive projects which can vary from race cars to commerical vehicles and therefore, provides varied work. They therefore, need a multi skilled / flexible engineer who can enjoy a varied role which can be harness design, electronics engineering, software, validation, hardware or EMC to know a few. So someone with experience amongst these areas looking for a new challenge and opportunity to develop their career.
KEY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Develop Electronic and Electrical systems.
Design and develop electrical systems including power management and distribution.
Lead the integration of electrical, electronic, mechatronic and wiring systems in a vehicle environment
Develop new analogue electronics, digital electronics and embedded control systems
Assist in the debug of new and existing software code in development environment
Manage changes in existing embedded control systems’ hardware and software
Project manage new and existing analogue and digital electronics test and validation
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
Develop specifications from customer requirements.
Work Closely as part of the electronics systems team to develop high quality cost effective electronic/electrical systems.
PCB Layout and design
Electrical system design and build.
Full cycle product design and support.
Manage documentation as part of change management process for existing systems
Specify test plans for developed systems
Complete design verification and function sign off in line with project deadlines
Develop test and validation specifications

HEADLINE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL:
Degree qualified electronics/electrical
Post graduate experience in electronics systems development
Electrical integration and fault finding experience
Analogue and digital electronics design and development – full cycle
Expertise in CAN & LIN including Vector tools, vehicle on-board diagnostics, network management.
EMC design good practice
In depth understanding of harness and schematic drawings
Automotive experience with an OEM or tier 1 supplier
DESIRABLE:
Awareness of ISO26262
Microchip PIC processors and development tool chain
Understanding of ARM cortex processor technology and development tool chain
Matlab/Simulink trained
Awareness of ISO26262
Awareness of C / C++
Vesys EDS Design System trained
