Our Engineering Consultancy client is seeking a new GROUP FINANCIAL REPORTING ACCOUNTANT to join their business on a permanent basis carrying out stats and accounts reporting.

KEY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Working alongside and reporting directly to the Group Finance Director (GFD) to underpin and develop the day to day accounts function and develop to provide value add across the Groups operations.
Provide cover both for the GFD in certain areas but down through the Accounts Team on a hands on basis to be responsible for and to manage a system of internal and external financial controls directly and through a small Accounts Team reporting directly to the Group FC
Assisting the GFD ensure effective and appropriate use of the Company’s financial resources in order for the Company to achieve its financial and strategic objectives and ambitious growth plans; whilst reaming compliant and providing a high calibre, accurate and value added service to the Group’s Business Management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
? Provision of balance sheet controls and maintenance of system controls in support of the financial information; KPI and associated reporting requirements for internal and external needs
? Preparation of annual statutory accounts and liaison with auditors and tax advisors
? Responsibility for the Treasury Function including provision of cash flow forecasts daily/weekly/ quarterly as required and participation in working capital management
? Assisting the preparation of budgets and maintenance of rolling financial forecasts
? Investigating variances from budgets and forecasts and highlighting any trends to the Board of Directors / Business Management team
? Maintaining the Company’s financial reporting system and driving improvements to processes
? Maintain and develop internal controls to safeguard the Company’s assets and cash resources
? Develop and control processes across the Business functions; inclusive of Supply chain; MP&L & Manufacturing/Engineering
? Development of the Sage 200 system accounts; timesheet; MRP; Project Accounting and reporting modules to benefit all functions and be the Groups Sage Champion and Superuser
? Work across disciplines from Senior Management to Shop Floor and provide value information / reporting translated from source accounting data
? Support the Businesses Project Managers and Operational functions through Programme cost controls and reporting; post cost accounting and process development including the Groups Grant assisted programmes
? Ensure cover across key roles across the Accounts team and provide Line Management through all HR process, Team development and guidance; training and people progression

HEADLINE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL:
? Previous experience in a similar role working within a fast paced entrepreneurial, dynamic, manufacturing high growth business
? Must have experience in drafting statutory accounts
? Experienced user of Sage 200 including reporting and manufacturing modules; BOM and MRP
? Trustworthy & personable, approachable, timely, consistent and succinct
? Flexible and deadline focussed; a desire to achieve
? Accurate & detailed in approach; Determined to improve and enhance
? Excellent problem solving skills and base level accounting double entry; a good grounding in Management accounting and use of MIS systems and processes
? Good understanding and experience of VAT returns / Government Gateway reporting
? Proficient in Managing monthly accounts preparation and reporting; timely, consistent and accurately
? Ability to Manage and develop people within the Accounts function
? Strong treasury control; use of banking systems and cash flow/ working capital control & reporting
? Translation of MI to Financial Statements and basic Corporation Tax computations
? Qualified ACCA or CIMA within a manufacturing environment
? Intermediate MS-Office with competent use of Excel including Sum-Ifs; Offset and lookup formulae
? Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
? Previous experience of managing and developing a team

DESIRABLE:
? Understanding and basic knowledge of Accounting standards and legislative requirements
? Understanding of PAYE and Pension legislation
? Understanding of R&D / Patent box regimes
? Project Accounting
? Grant programmes
