We’re looking for a Front End Developer to join a small but growing company and help them move to the next phase. You’ll be working closely with the Technical Director, Software Engineer and Communications Expert with the specific purpose of developing structured, clean & well written code. It’s a relaxed, professional environment and you’ll be working with some of the very latest technology that uses diverse IT and Engineering systems such as AWS, embedded software and satellite communications.
As part of their major technology project, you will have a key role in primarily designing and implementing the front end of their operational systems, aimed at live monitoring and mission control scenarios. Additionally you will support another software developer with the development of their back end system.
If you like the idea of working in a small, friendly team where you will be able to quickly see the impact of your code in real applications, then this is a great opportunity for you.
We are specifically looking for these skills and qualifications:
• Experience with backend technologies such as Python, PHP or Node.js
• Good understanding of RESTful and streaming APIs
• Familiarity with cloud stacks and architecture, such as AWS
• Good at collaborating with other members of team both in person and remotely
• Able to understand the needs of the end users of the system
• Appreciation of good web application design, from the perspective of both user experience and user interface.
This is varied and wide reaching position. This wouldn’t suit someone who wants to sit at a desk writing specs or someone who doesn’t like trying new methods to solve problems. It’s a small company and you’ll need to have a flexible and proactive attitude, taking the initiative to find solutions to real world problems. Our client is building a software team for the long term, so we are ideally looking for software developers who can demonstrate commitment and a desire to be around for a few years.
If you genuinely love technology and would like to join a growing business then this position could be for you.
For normal (non-coronavirus) times we think the candidate needs to be in the office on average roughly three days a week. For the current situation we would still like some time face to face - at least one day a week. We are at a fairly critical stage in the development process and think that face to face discussions are an important part of this.
