Fasteners/Fixings Engineer
Location: Warwickshire
Permanent: £35 - £38,000 + Benefits
Job Purpose:
Lead the fasteners, fixings and other cross-PMT components throughout bespoke divisions platforms.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
•Act as the lead engineer for fasteners, fixings and cross-PMT components for programmes combining aerospace technology, motorsport understanding and road vehicle requirements.
•Work alongside design engineers across the whole vehicle to assist, using calculations and knowledge, suitable component and material selection to optimise vehicle mass and performance whilst maintaining a suitable budget.
•Support fixings and fasteners for other programmes.
•Support dissimilar material testing, working with global suppliers to investigate new coating technologies.
•Develop in depth knowledge of suitable solutions working with Engineering and Legal & Certification.
•Maintain full vehicle Fastener BoM, working with a variety of suppliers on a regular basis.
•Work alongside Advanced Manufacturing Engineering to create suitable, cost effective and time optimising fastener kits for vehicle build and service.
•Develop new part naming strategies.
•Monitor and progress resolution of actions from the weekly engineering meetings.
•Provide engineering feasibility and costing support to the Programme team.
•Support Vehicle Engineering team in other general engineering activities when required.
Qualifications and Experience:
•Automotive or Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience.
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
•Knowledge of Siemens NX with Team Centre.
•Good ability to clearly present information to all levels in the organisation.
•Ability to build up good working relationships across a wide area of the business.
•Experience of project coordination or evidence of leadership ability.
•Driving licence, medical clearance to drive company vehicles.
