This is a chance to join an established, growing business that are a leading design and manufacturing company, mainly involved in the development of environmental sensors. We are looking for an Electronics Engineer to create digital designs, mixed signal designs including pre-amplifiers, filters, power supplies, interfacing and analogue-digital conversions for precision instrumentation applications.
You will be expected to work independently and as a member of a team contributing to all aspects of the product development cycle from requirement analysis through design & development into production. You will be expected to produce design documentation and test specifications. Practical skills would be desirable but not essential.
We are looking for experience in all round electronics design with expertise in FPGA and System-On-Chip; preferably in an instrumentation development environment. Some experience or knowledge of microprocessor based circuit design and embedded software would be desirable.
Love it or loathe it, you may be expected to provide technical support to Sales and Marketing for bidding/proposal writing and technical assistance to the Customer Support Manager and the Production Department.
For a successful application you will need:
• A BSc (2:1) or a higher degree in a relevant electronics-engineering course.
• Basic Analog components / circuits
• Verilog / VHDL
• Circuit analysis, modelling and theory
• Analog-Digital Conversion
• Interfacing and IO (e.g. I2C and SPI bus)
• CAD Schematic layout using Cadence OrCAD PCB design tools
• XilinX Zynq
• Fault finding
• Assembler and/or embedded ‘C’
This position would suit a self-motivated engineer capable of running small development tasks independently and a typical task might include designing a multichannel data logger. On a daily basis you’ll be involved in new product development (design & test), supporting existing product development (fault finding / improvement / enhancement), as well as support to Production Department test engineers.
