Job Description

Leading test and development business is seeking a proven senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in the design, installation and commissioning of electrical equipment for the new test facility opening in 2020.

We are seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer, ideally with proven experience in variable speed drives and best practice earthing in particular, with some knowledge of electrical instrumentation and control systems.

Your key responsibilities will include:

·Produce conceptual designs, costs and timing plans for new and developed equipment in order to evaluate project feasibility.

·Design new equipment and systems in accordance with the conceptual design whilst maintaining project costs and timing.

·Oversee the assembly phase of a project ensuring that new items of equipment are assembled correctly and finished to the highest standard.

·Carry out commissioning of new systems that have been designed/manufactured in-house, or purchased externally.

·Carry out risk assessments on new and existing equipment in order to ensure safe systems and procedures.

·Develop existing equipment or systems in order to improve capability.

·Provide engineering input to support the maintenance of equipment employed within the company.

·Ensure that projects adhere to the pre-agreed cost and timing plans.

·Ensure that project records are collated and maintained for future reference.

·Any other tasks that are reasonably assigned to you by your line manager, including development activities, which are within your capability and grade
