Job Description

A rare & technically challenging opportunity for a Lead Electrical Design & Control Systems Engineer to join a successful and established company in Hampshire.  We are looking for a Senior Engineer who can take the technical lead for the controls systems design and work very closely with the Electrical Engineering Manager to continuously develop the product offering. As such you’ll need to have good all-round Electrical Design & PLC experience with a background in Industrial Automation, specifically automated machinery for the tier 1 automotive sector.
Working in a project orientated environment, you’ll be leading a small highly-skilled team who are responsible for designing electrical controls using AutoCad, programming PLC’s and HMI’s and commissioning automation systems. There is a requirement for  travel to customer sites throughout the UK – this is on average 2 -4 days a month (car and expenses provided).
Our client is ideally looking for a conscientious and ambitious Electrical Engineer who would like to take the lead within the electrical design team.  This position will appeal to senior engineers who are happy to take on a diverse range of responsibilities throughout the project cycle, work closely with the customer and take the technical lead in the team.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Relevant Engineering Degree – ideally electrical or control systems engineering 
Proven ability within the Industrial Automation & Machinery sector 
Experience and knowledge of the automotive tier 1 industry would be ideal
Current knowledge & practical application of electrical regulations/machinery directive will be expected

• RSLogix 5000 & 500
• Mitsubishi GX Works 2
• Siemens S7 & S5 
• RSNetworx for Device-net or similar Industrial Networking 
• Proface Software
• E-Designer
• ProTool
• 6-Axis Robot Programming
