Job Description

Digital Vehicle Engineer
Warwickshire

Electric performance brand, determined to improve the society we live in. Our focus is on uncompromised design and technology.  We constantly redefine the norm and challenge ourselves to shine. Passion and emotion drive us, electricity and innovation drive our cars. Our products are excellent, efficient and entertaining.

Due to aggressive growth plans my client  is currently looking to recruit a Digital Vehicle Engineer.

Personal attributes
In order to succeed you will need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills as the ability to build effective working relationships across multiple disciples is paramount.  Attitude is everything we are always pushing boundaries and in order to achieve the unimaginable you must have a can-do approach and an open mind to endless possibilities.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:
We believe that maximising the use of virtual tools is the most cost-effective and efficient route to ensuring accurate and robust design data. Our aim is to interrogate designs thoroughly in the virtual world to minimise physical prototypes. We’ll ensure designs are complete, robust and optimised prior to tooling. Time-to-market will be improved, late design change minimised and our designs will ensure manufacturing and quality targets are met.

The Digital Vehicle Engineer is responsible for defining and running the Digital / Virtual Series, applying all the rigour and urgency normally seen in physical pre-production builds, to confirm;
Design for Manufacture and tooling feasibility, minimising cost and complexity
Design for Assembly, ensuring ergonomic compliance
Geometric compatibility, including dimensional analysis
Manufacturing Engineering assumptions

You’ll define data submission and freeze milestones and drive the review cadence by a gateway process that sets objective measures of data quality. You’ll research virtual tools that represent industry best practice but still offer value for money.
Overall, the Digital Vehicle Engineer will form a close working relationship with our Functional Groups to take a shared ownership of meeting design completion objectives.

Academic Requirements
You’ll have a minimum of 5 years relevant automotive experience, with a direct exposure to full vehicle build activities. Your experience will include a good understanding of virtual tools and you’ll have experience of setting up and running Digital / Virtual series (ideally in an OEM environment).

If you believe you have what it takes to work at the heart of automotive innovation and would like to enjoy a competitive salary along with a private health care plan, life insurance, pension and 25 days holiday then we look forward to reviewing your application.
