Job Description

Global product leader supplying the highest quality automotive components and systems for all the major global car manufacturers and the aftermarket is seeking a Diesel Systems Engineer to support continued expansion.

At the Coventry site, my client has specialist teams focusing on powertrain, infotainment and safety systems, thermal systems and rotating machines for a variety of automotive and off-highway manufacturers.

Role/Responsibilities
This position will involve responsibility for the assigned aspect of Diesel FiE System. System responsibility includes discussion with the customer (e.g. component application explanation), system analysis (e.g. system specification, pump capacity), calibration (e.g. rail pressure control, injector characterisation) and pre-development (e.g. control system development).

Ideally my client is looking for a proven engineer with good theoretical knowledge and relevant powertrain experience, ideally with rig / engine calibration.

Skills:
Proven track record delivering projects, able to demostrate a solid understanding of engine combustion / engine control. Good experience of powertrain related systems. Diesel component calibration, Matlab, Simulink or similar are also desirable.

You will be comfortable working either independently or in teams and will demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills.

In this role you will be expected to support test work with the OEM in the UK and overseas, also to undertake short periods of overseas business travel.
