I am currently looking to recruit a Design Quality Engineer for our Automotive OEM client.
This is a key role in the business and the key objective is to quickly resolve and prevent reoccurrence of Quality concerns.
You will work in collaboration with factory and service teams to improve customer satisfaction and reflect know-how back to R&D head office to include in future products.
This would suit applicants with a relevant degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering, and strong knowledge in Body, Exterior or Interior. It would also be beneficial to have good hands on problem solving skills working with vehicles.
o Managing Quality concerns related to design and specification
o Managing projects with multi-functional teams (Factory, Service, Purchasing and Design)
o Carry out complex technical investigations and deploy countermeasure actions that reduce Warranty cost and improve customer satisfaction.
o Travel to incident vehicles, operational environment and actual customer concerns.
o Take hands on approach to locally re producing concerns and analysing defective parts.
o To take investigation beyond the existing company available information.
o Reporting problem status and future activities to top management internally and externally.
o The role may require travel overseas, including Japan, to attend quality issues and attend communication meetings.
Qualifications, skills and experience required:
o University degree in Automotive and/or Mechanical Engineering (Essential)
o Excellent knowledge of Body, Exterior or Interior components & systems (Desirable)
o Demonstrable Problem analysis & solving skills in Quality (Essential)
o Project management skills (Essential)
o Experience of data logging and data analysis (Desirable)
o An adept communicator, be able to build good relationships across all teams (Essential)
