Seeking to recruit Design Engineers in the Mechanisms Department with a range of skills to join the growing team delivering OEM and niche vehicle projects within the business
As a Design Engineer you will be involved in developing designs for high-volume automotive applications that are robust, lightweight, and cost effective. This will involve reviewing package data (in either NX or CATIA), creating design concepts that meet all of the performance requirements, generating DFMEAs, defining analysis requirements, optimizing the design, creating drawings for prototype and production builds, initiating tests to verify the performance, etc.
Throughout the development process the Design Engineer will have to work closely with other departments (Analysis, Prototype, Testing, etc.), manufacturing division(s), suppliers, and the OEM.
- Ideally you'll hold a couple of years' experience in a similar or related position within the automotive industry, but Graduate Engineers can be considered preferably with a years’ experience.
- Engineering degree or equivalent and have the drive to reach challenging goals, this position should interest you.
It is expected that candidates will have capability in either NX or CATIA V5 CAD systems although experience with other CAD software will be considered.
- Candidates should also be familiar with typical product development and part verification systems (e.g. FMEA, PPAP etc.).
-Good written and verbal communication skills are a must as the successful candidate will be expected to interact with other engineers, customers, and suppliers.
