Honda are proud to offer a 3-12 month Mechanical Engineer Internship which will provide you with a true opportunity to enhance your experience and contribute to our success. You will be an integral part of the Energy Storage System (ESS) mechanical engineering team that is responsible for designing and simulating new components & systems for Honda’s Formula 1 programme.
The purpose of this role is to design or to perform finite element simulations to develop our ESS including all the necessary tools, equipment and processes to ensure that performance and reliability targets are met.
Based on your skill set and background, you will be able to work in different areas in our ERS (Energy Recovery System) mechanical engineering department:
• Design solutions considering material selection, manufacturability, heat treatment & other process requirements, surface finish requirements and geometrical tolerancing
• Using linear and non-linear structural analysis simulation tools and pre/post processors, preferably using Hyperworks or Abaqus

On track to achieve a 2.1 degree, or above, in Mechanical / Aeronautical Engineering or related degree
A strong academic background in relevant A Level, or equivalent disciplines, for example Maths or Sciences
An excellent understanding of engineering first principles
Familiar with CAD packages, previous experience of Catia V5 preferable
