Job Description

You will need to be an experienced manufacturing/CI professional and exhibit a proven track record of managing production cells for a varied customer base.  Experience within automotive or a similar demanding customer environment is essential to understand customer’s requirements are met and business improvements delivered. 
Key Responsibilities:
•Manage and control day-to-day work within manufacturing cells to ensure orders are delivered on time in full to internal and external customer’s requirements
•Manage and develop team leaders as direct reports and ensure management flexibility across production cells to achieve operational objectives
•Develop a culture of continuous improvement within the Operations team utilising modern techniques
•Lead projects, involving cross functional team members
•Ensure proactive management of health and safety systems are adopted across the business
•Support and develop business systems in order to eliminate waste from manufacturing process and improve customer service
•Driving key metrics within the operational function
•Ensuring adherence to health, safety, quality and environmental systems
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications:
•Ideally a degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant subject
•It is desirable to have a health and safety qualification e.g. IOSH or equivalent
•Experience or qualifications within Continuous improvement are desirable
Previous Experience:
•Experienced of working in an automotive environment with demanding customer expectations
•Demonstrable experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team within a multi shift-manufacturing environment
•Must be able to demonstrate your management and leadership experience with hands on management style when required
•Customer focused and results driven with proven record of accomplishment of demonstrable successes
•Analytical problem solving skills with the ability able to identify root causes and develop solutions showing your initiative and team working skills
•Previous experience managing manufacturing environment within a fabrication\welding environment would be a distinct advantage but not essential
•Proven past of delivering continuous improvements throughout a business
