CAD Designer – Body Structures

Coventry - Contract

Body structures team need to recruit a CAD Designer. The role will be to complete design and engineering activities and assist in the successful delivery of CAD data in the Body Structure content.

The Role:
•Complete component design of extrusions, castings, pressings etc along with assembly de-sign in a CATIA V5 environment. 
•Deliver system designs to meet the requirements of technical specifications in accordance with design guidelines and standards. 
•Plan design activities in order to fulfil the requirements of the c release system, considering timing dependencies with other systems where necessary.
•Represent the Body Structure Department in design and release reviews. 
•Develop concepts and mature final system designs to weight, cost and serviceability targets with confirmation through analysis. 

The Person:
•Demonstrable experience in a CATIA V5 environment. 
•Experience working in/for medium volume vehicle projects would be advantageous. 
•Excellent communication and co-ordination skills - at ease working with a cross-functional team of engineers and suppliers. 
•Ability to clearly communicate and/or describe information relating to Body structure com-ponent design or packaging to personnel who may not have significant knowledge of body systems. 
•Flexible, enthusiastic individual who is self-motivated, able to work well under own initiative and remain focused under pressure. 
•Possession of a product design, engineering or similar honours Engineering Degree. Other recognized engineering qualifications combined with relevant experience may be consid-ered.
