Our automotive OEM is looking to expand their Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team by recruiting an Advanced Manufacturing Engineers; of which they are seeking an Advanced Lead Manufacturing Engineer. These could be Trim and Final, Chassis or BIW for example.

Duties / Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role):
The purpose of this role is to support Manufacturing & Projects in all aspects of Trim & Final Manufacturing Engineering activity. To improve the quality & consistency of the service provided by the Manufacturing Engineering department. Achieving all project gateways is key to the successful delivery of all new products, you will therefore support in the delivery of all internal program & defined supplier milestones to ensure this happens. Within this role, you will also manage & support timing plans that ensure the successful delivery of the full program. 
 
Main duties of the role includes:
Perform and co-ordinate technical aspects of Manufacturing Engineering within Project and operations activities.
Management and co-ordination of Manufacturing Engineering proposals for New Project Introductions.
Representing Manufacturing Engineering at the highest level both internally and externally (e.g. Senior Management Reviews/Third Party Clients)
Lead the development in new manufacturing processes including strategies for implementing advances in new emerging technologies. 
Develops, evaluates and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards. 
Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes. 
Confers with vendors to determine product specification and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts and evaluates products according to specification and quality standards. 
Develops and prepares formal cost justifications for purchase of Capital Equipment.
Acting as the main point of contact for Manufacturing Engineering T&F activities. 
Re-distributing pf PCO's to the appropriate member of Manufacturing Engineering & final sign-off approval.
Attendance at relevant project meetings as representative for Operations/Manufacturing Engineering. 
Provision of production readiness metrics. 
Assembly sequencing, Process & Documentation and Product Trace ability methodology.
Co-ordination and development of plant & facility layouts.
Prototype Build & production ramp-up support, planning and co-ordination. 
Support of tooling, equipment & facilities specification, procurement, installation, commissioning. 
Design Reviews.
PFMEA, DFMEA
Line Balancing, Hours Per Car generation/reporting. 
Co-ordination of sign off of Product Change Orders. 
Planning and execution of new vehicle programs.
End of line vehicle processing/finishing. 
Identify resolutions for product related issues, ensuring all quality targets are achieved.
Implementation of safe working practices. 

Qualifications and Experience
Essential Criteria: 
HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
Working knowledge of project delivery within niche vehicle & OEM automotive industries.
CATIA V5, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Project.
Aerospace Industry or Tool Making. Previous experience in a production environment.
Must be a proactive, team player. Have excellent attention to detail, and communication skills. 
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Analysis, Continuous Improvement & project delivery is desirable.
