Our Global Automotive technology supplier are looking to recruit a Systems Engineer to join their team. Their products and systems are an important part of nearly every major vehicle manufactured around the world.  

They are at the forefront of advanced technology and are in a unique position to shape the future of mobility.  Based in Coventry at the heart of the UK automotive industry, they provide development engineering and account management for a number of car makers.

The main purpose of this role is to provide Diesel fuel injection equipment systems support for EU Diesel customers. You will cover customer project management, simulation and testing. It will be necessary to manage the customer / supplier relationship during their engine development (including new business acquisition), input into change point analysis to determine necessary validation, and collaborate with colleagues to make judgements on customer validation.  

Main Tasks of the Job

•    Responsibility for the assigned aspects of the Diesel FIE System (specific tasks assigned to an individual will depend on level of experience & knowledge).
•    Responsibility includes discussion with the customer (e.g. component application explanation), system analysis (e.g. system specification, pump capacity) calibration (e.g. rail pressure control, injector characterisation), pre-development (e.g. control system development, engine demonstration projects). 
•    Responsible for managing assigned tasks within the production development workflow process and delivering tasks to the agreed milestones to support overall project targets.


Personal Attributes

•    Good Degree or Equivalent, (2:1 or higher in Mechanical, Automotive or Electronics Engineering)
•    An engineer with good theoretical knowledge and relevant Diesel experience, ideally with experience dealing with customers.
•    Clear thinker, good communicator.
•    Needs to demonstrate initiative and pro-active attitude.
•    Good at logical analysis of data and problem solving.
•    Demonstrates clear ownership of task.
•    Will have demonstrated their project capability in a work environment. Track record of delivering output. 
•    Demonstrate a solid understanding of diesel engine combustion / engine control.
