Key Objectives & Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Engineer will be familiar with one or more of the Exterior Mechanism’s commodities which include charge flap & port, wash & wipers, locks& latches, mirrors, door regulators, glazing and sealing.
You will have the following skills-
• Proven Project Management track record of ownership and delivery of mechanism commodities.
• Understanding of typical programme milestones (Product Design Specification)
• Ownership of timing, cost, and resource planning.
• Creation and ownership of technical documentation, DVP, DFMEA, specifications, etc.
• Ability to support purchasing throughout the sourcing process.
• Effectively manage suppliers from nomination to all phases of build and part maturation.
• Lead cross functional reviews with various function groups as required.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Support Design through all phases of surfaces maturation and part feasibility, split lines, tool direction, draft requirement, perceived quality, etc.
• Problem solving process and framework, 6-sigma, Kaizen, 8D, Pareto, DoE, etc.
• Familiarity with launch activities.
• Part GD&T, fixturing and build process.
• An appreciation of Perceived Quality.
Experience Requirements:
• Ability to remain current with inquisitive mind and drive to understand future materials, emerging technologies, and latest trends in the automotive sector.
• Familiar with component environment and packaging needs within interfacing sub team closures, exteriors, structures, electrical, etc.
• Overview of any electrical interface and software control needed, variable parameters, EMC, etc.
• Appreciation of legal requirements, certification & homologation.
• Catia V5 and TCE experience also preferred but not essential.
• Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office sweet and familiarity working remotely using Teams/Zoom or other collaboration tools.
