Senior Software Engineer
Remote with occasional visits to the office in Dorset or Hampshire
£60-65k + Bonus + Excellent Benefits Package
This is a chance to join a small but well-established company who is a leader in their field of image processing. You’ll be joining a team of 4 professional software developers as a Senior within the team, supporting the SW Development Manager in driving best practice within the group. With a particularly desire to find and Engineer who places quality of code above all else, this would suit an Engineer who believes in doing things right from the start, rather than cutting corners.
You’ll be involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements definition, detailed design of software components, coding, documentation, integration, and validation on target hardware. On rare occasion this may require working in the field to see the code in action.
We are interested in speaking to Engineers with the following languages, technologies and frameworks:
Microsoft Visual Studio 2019/2022
Microsoft Azure Devops including CI/CD
Agile Software Development (Scrum or similar)
C# .NET/.NET Core (from .NET 4.6 to 6.0)
Visual C++ 14.0 or higher.
Multithreading and concurrent execution.
SOLID principles and CLEAN architecture
Network protocols (Ethernet, RS232, RS245, TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP)
Unit testing using MSTest or nUnit.
C++ Cross-platform development (for Linux and Windows platforms)
Microservices and REST interfaces.
Graphic Display Tools such as ENCX, GMAP, OpenGL
Web Front End Frameworks (Angular, React, Vue, Blazor or similar)
Intel Integrated Performance Primitives Libraries (Intel IPP)
NIOS II IDE (Altera embedded processor)
Embedded software and firmware development
This position would suit a Software Engineer who has worked within an Engineering environment, writing software to interact with electronics hardware, but the manager is open minded about industry domains so long as the Engineer can demonstrate experience in other key areas.
Degrees in Software Engineering, Physics or Computer Science with a strong interest in software development would be the ideal.
The core area of interest is C# .Net Core, C++, Web API’s, Networking protocols, Quality of Code.
The benefits package is excellent and includes 25 days holiday, a very good pension, life assurance x6 of salary, PHI, Bonus - PRP (not guaranteed but has historically paid between 5-18%) and the hours of work are 8.30 – 5pm although flexitime and hybrid working are available.
There will be a 3 stage interview process for those shortlisted.
