We are looking to hire an experienced, high performing Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take the lead on a growing range of new product development projects. This exciting role will be focused on a range of NPI projects intending to deliver cutting edge electrified turbochargers and compressors for both automotive and land-based applications.
We are looking for this background:
•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, automotive, power engineering or similar.
•Ability to take technical responsibility and lead others on a specific project
•Current use of 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred)
•Strong background in a mechanical design engineering role, covering cast/machined part design and complex assemblies, ideally related to turbomachinery, high-speed rotating machines, pumps, compressors, motors or similar
•Experience of NPI lifecycles.
•Able to decide on the appropriate level of detail required and used to working with high precision tolerancing considerations
•An appreciation FEA, thermal expansion ideally
This position would suit someone with outstanding communication skills, has a positive outlook and is a team player. Technically you should be comfortable with the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems, including the challenges associated with stress, heat transfer, fluid flow, bolted joints and high-speed rotating components.
