This is a cracking opportunity that is slightly different from the run of the mill jobs you see over and over again and will appeal to engineers who enjoy a bit of technical, coupled with some project work and customer interaction.
This client is a small, well established SME with a superb reputation in their industry for producing outstanding systems & products. Demand for their products is at an all-time high with growth predicted to continue for the long term.
Working alongside the MD you’ll be developing close relationships with new & existing customers, producing technical proposals and engineering solutions to meet their requirements.
They are not looking for a sharp suited salesperson.
What they need is previous experience of design-led sales, so an experienced automation design engineer who can take a drawing for a customer’s product and come up with an automated production solution would be ideal.
Day to day you will be involved with technical and commercial evaluation of the customer’s requirements, perform a detailed study of customer process and drawings to produce build procedure and cycle time studies to optimise the customer’s process, as well as prepare technical proposals and quotations.
To apply for this position, you’ll need the following:
•A relevant engineering qualification
•An engineering background, ideally as a design engineer within the automation sector
•A proven track record in sales, business and customer development
•Self-motivated and results driven with a keen desire to progress your career
•Welding automation or robotic handling systems knowledge would be a distinct advantage
This is a challenging opportunity and you will need to be highly motivated.
This Sales Engineer position offers an excellent opportunity to combine your technical expertise and customer facing commercial activities, and may well suit a Design or Applications Engineer who wants to be more involved in generating concepts for new projects.
