​Quality Systems Engineer

Our high tech manufacturing client based in Southampton are looking to expand their quality team by recruiting a Quality Systems Engineer on a perm basis.

Job Purpose:

Ensure the effective operation of the Quality Management System (QMS) by a) carrying out internal audits to identify nonconformities and b) coordinating teams in the identification and execution of corrective action to eliminate the root causes of the nonconformities.

Develop and improve the QMS by documenting or updating processes and procedures as and when necessary.

Maintain the QMS to ensure continued accreditation to ISO9001: 2015 and other quality standards.

Monitor the performance of the QMS by assessing and reporting on the achievement of Key Performance Indicators.

Maintain the document control and change management system.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

1.Quality Audits

•Ownership of planning and preforming internal quality management system (QMS) audits in accordance with ISO9001:2015

•Coordinate, host and Providing support in 3rd party audits by customers, accreditation bodies, and divisional administration.

•Follow-up with closing meetings with auditees and ensure responsibilities assigned for all non-conformities (NCs) identified.

•Analysis of auditing performance and trends, including Pareto of NCs and time-to-closure reporting to the Head of Quality.

2.Change Management and Quality Management System

•Business Process change management - ensuring business process changes are appropriately managed and controlled through the change management system.

•Document Control Management – ensuring that document changes are appropriately managed and controlled through the change management system.

•Supporting departments in update of quality systems procedures

•Update quality systems documents on request

•Develop and maintain Corrective Action System

•Provide new starter and refresher training in relation to quality system processes.

•Provide interpretation / understanding of quality systems procedures to co-workers as and when appropriate.

•Development and delivery of training programs of quality systems processes

•Reporting of appropriate KPIs

•Support Head of Quality in preparation of Quality Management System Reviews

3.General:

•Support business in all quality related matters when required.

•Travel between sites, if required.

Required Experience:

•Experienced auditor against ISO9001:2015 preferably to Lead Auditor standard.

•Understanding of Quality Management Systems or experience of operating in a Quality Assured manufacturing environment

Qualifications:

•Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree preferred.

•Membership of an industry related Professional Body would be an advantage.

•Previous experience within Automotive sector would be advantageous
