This is a chance to join a small team of 3 Design and Development Engineers working on some cutting-edge products used within the clean energy sector. You’ll be designing and testing electro-mechanical assemblies associated with transducer design, that need to operate over long periods of time in some pretty harsh conditions. This will give opportunity to work with exciting new materials, manufacturing processes and state of the art validation equipment. 

This is full product development lifecycle work, starting with early stage concepts and prototypes, test and validation and on into production. You’ll be working on 3-5 development projects at any one time and these can last from 6 months to 3 years. 

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications 

Essential

  • 3D CAD user - preferably Autodesk Inventor, although other 3D CAD package experience is acceptable

  • Practical mechanical engineering skills including relevant experience of prototype assembly and testing.

  • Advanced computer skills, in particular Microsoft Office

  • Some industrial experience or a practical background and interest in engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent

Desirable

  • FEA Modelling (preferably ANSYS)

  • Additive manufacturing experience

  • Transducer design, Electronics packaging

This position would suit a Mechanical Engineer with some industrial experience. If you have recently graduated and can demonstrate a genuine interest in engineering outside of your studies then this could be of interest. We are looking for a practical, hands on Engineer who enjoys working with technologies such as 3D printers as well as building, testing and analysing the data.
