Senior CFD Aerodynamicist - F1 / High Performance Motorsport

F1 Team seeks a Senior CFD Aerodynamicist to join their growing Aerodynamics team.

Senior CFD Aerodynamicist                                        

Purpose of the Role:

To make the best of use of CFD through a coordinated team effort to deliver performance, in cooperation with the experimental aerodynamicists, to the F1 race car.


Principal Accountabilities:

•             Delivery of CFD analysis and input for their area of the car to deadlines

•             Monitoring and maximising quality of CFD solutions for their team

•             Tackling and resolving correlation issues with tunnel and track

•             Developing and applying new CFD technology in cooperation with the R&D team

•             Managing CFD aerodynamicists, providing technical leadership and guidance and in particular leading through example

•             Managing and allocating CFD workload for the team and ensuring deadlines are met

•             Developing aerodynamic solutions for the racing car that deliver performance under the direction of the Aerodynamics Team Leader

•             Fostering a creative working environment that leads to innovation in both aerodynamics and the use of CFD


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


•             Demonstratable high level of CFD expertise

•             A PhD in relevant subject area

•             Considerable experience in the application of commercial CFD in an F1 environment

•             Capability and willingness to lead a small dynamic team to high levels of performance
